My introduction to share trading started thirty years ago when I was given 100 Abbey National shares due to having a mortgage with them. They increased in value 30% in twelve months, I was hooked! I then began depositing into Building Societies to obtain free shares when they demutualized and my portfolio was born. Because my business involved trading metals I began to take particular interest in the Mining sector, which has continued to this day. I was caught up in the wave of Dot.com winning and losing like most, which forced my hand to understand the importance of risk management going forward which has given me the discipline to still be trading the same portfolio of thirty years ago.
I've placed an order to sell the NAS below the 20 ema on the 1 hr chart . The price action has been in a six day down trend and although it bounced today on not much good news , i'm expecting the selling to continue until we get a resolution to the china/u s trade dispute but im placing an order rather than going direct to market just in case the buying continues . first update US retail sales in 5 mins " a big deal for stocks " we are up 16 pips lets secure 10 pips in front of the news, 2nd update up 25 pips lets secure 20 pips and then let it run . new stop at 7360 hit 24 pips secured .
